I chose this image because it has always been my dream to see the northern lights in real life. I also love the shaped heart that was naturally captured in this picture.

 A) Photo By: Ed Clark : 13 April 1945 B)  This image by Ed Clark is a very powerful image that shows a lot of emotions but as I stare at the image I see grief. The way the instrument is being played with so much emotion shows a man mourning a huge loss. After learning more about the image I can see the connection that the musician had with President  Franklin D. Roosevelt and the emotions that His death brings. Showing us how he was a loved man and a good leader. Another thing I notice about the picture is his clothes. He looks like he is in the U.S. Navy and was part of the military.  C) When starring at the image the first three principles from photography that I notice are :  The Subject Expression:  The image shows us the emotion of the subject vividly, its also expressing how vulnerable and emotional the man playing the piano is while also showing the expression of others in the background. What is Photojournalism?

A  1) What impact does photojournalism have on small-town photojournalists?      The impact that photojournalism has in a small town is huge. This is because in small towns people tend to know each other more. This means that you have to be able to separate business from pleasure. The good thing about a small town is that you get to photograph your family and friends in their huge accomplishments. however, as with everything, there's a double side to everything. In this video of photojournalist Jason Henske says "It presents problems when I photograph a young man graduating and his achievements and two years later, I photograph his coffin coming home from Iraq" The impact that this must have on him has to be sad knowing that the same child you watch graduate, you now have to watch get buried.    2) What Risks do war photographers face when putting their lives in danger for an image?      The risks that photographers in wars face are not just...

Final Project Neil Leifer

  Photo By: Shakira Martin 1 Dec 2024     I chose to do a collage of Neil Leifer most impactful images that highlights some of the incredible things he has done in his photojournalism career with sports. Adding on to the collage I  wanted to add my own personal feelings about these images and what came to my mind when I did a research therefor I created a poem to express some of those feelings.  Below is the Poem written in the middle of the collage in case it's hard to read.  A moment is a fleeting thing, unless you capture it.
